June 7 2012 council session.

There were five items on the regular agenda for the corinth city council last night. The resolution denying Atmos Energy their rate request was approved. Atmos energy supported the resolution as they were making progress with the rate regions member cities negotiating a reduced rate increase.

The greatest amount of time was spent discussing the list of improvements to neighborhood parks, and funding sources for those improvements as well as the previously discussed improvements to the athletics fields. There was no formal action taken, and council did direct staff to prepare a detailed cost estimate for each item on the neighborhood park priority list, and to prepare a cost estimate for any items requiring continuing maintenance.

As a result of the election approving the continuation of the city road maintenance sales tax, the council adopted the enabling ordinance for the sales tax.

All the other items were ministerial and passed.
